We have an exciting opportunity within our Domestic Department for an enthusiastic and dedicated Laundry Assistant.
About the role: You will join on a part‑time, permanent basis (30 hours per week). The Laundry Assistant plays a key role in supporting the daily life of over 1,200 pupils across the 400‑acre campus. Working within a high‑specification laundry facility equipped with both traditional and ozone machines, the post holder will contribute to the efficient and professional delivery of laundry services that underpin the comfort, wellbeing and presentation of the College community.

Salary is £26,000 per annum (full‑time equivalent). For 30 hours per week the rate is £19,500.
Key responsibilities (including but not limited to; see job description for full requirements):
 * Sorting garments and linens by fabric type and colour to ensure optimal care
 * Loading and programming washing machines with pupil clothing, bedding and specialist items
 * Transferring freshly laundered items to dryers and selecting appropriate settings
 * Operating finishing equipment including shirt finishers, rotary calendar and trouser press
 * Folding, pressing and packing items into designated house bags for return
Person specification:
 * Essential:
 * Understanding of laundry processes and equipment
 * Awareness of health and safety procedures
 * Ability to work effectively as part of a team
 * Experience working in a practical, hands‑on environment
 * Desirable:
 * Previous experience in a commercial laundry or similar operational setting
 * Experience working in a school or residential environment
 * Familiarity with specialist laundry items (e.g. sports kits, uniforms, robes)
