Job Description
Electrical Engineers are a core component of the development team serving as the technical authority for hardware development while working to deliver best-in-class products. They collaborate closely with Firmware Engineers, System Engineers, Quality Engineers, Program Managers, external partners, and customers to stay at the forefront of technology and innovation, ensuring the delivery of reliable products.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Advanced Hardware Design & Architecture: Leads the design of complex boards or subsystems (multi-layer PCBs, high-speed interfaces, advanced power management). Ensures robust designs through signal integrity analysis, power integrity checks, and thermal considerations.
2. System-Level Integration & DFM/DFT: Works with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless hardware integration, considering manufacturability and testability (e.g., component spacing, test points, production yields).
3. Simulation & Functional Safety and EMC: Uses SPICE simulation tools to predict and mitigate issues. Designs with safety in mind and guides compliance planning for EMC, EMI, ESD, and assists in certification testing.
4. Documentation & Communication: Creates detailed design documents, test plans, and interface control documents. Communicates effectively with stakeholders and supports project documentation, schedules, budgets, and risk assessments. Supports supplier quality audits and interfaces with subcontractors.
5. Leadership & Mentorship: Mentors junior engineers, supports team development, conducts design reviews, and may lead small project teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
2. Required Skills/Abilities: Proficiency in embedded design for battery-powered devices, schematic capture software (Altium a plus), Microsoft Office, and board management/defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, GIT).
3. Additional Skills: Experience with military standards (MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810), laser systems, night vision/imaging, or target location systems.
Physical Requirements
* On-site presence required.
* Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
* Extended computer use and ability to handle tools/prototypes.
