We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Reablement Team based in Bath.
This is a rewarding role within the Reablement Service, which is a short-term service supporting people in their own homes or in Residential or Nursing Homes. The aim is to maximize and maintain independence through rehabilitation and support.
You will join a supportive, multidisciplinary team including Reablement Therapy Workers, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, Care Co-Ordinators, and Administrative support. The team collaborates closely with local GPs and community services such as District Nurses and Social Workers.
This role involves travel around the Bath and North East Somerset area, so a Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle are essential.
The position is full-time, based at St Martins Hospital, Bath. Service hours are from 8:00 to 22:00, with core hours typically 8:00-16:00, and 9:00-18:00 and 8:00-14:00 once weekly.
The service operates seven days a week, and staff are expected to work weekends and bank holidays within a rota. Enhancements are paid for unsocial hours according to AfC rates.
Main duties of the job
As a Reablement Occupational Therapist, you will:
* Conduct therapeutic assessments, diagnoses, and treatments using person-centered goals.
* Deliver high-standard, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services in the community, including assessments, care planning, rehabilitation, and therapeutic care.
* Manage your own caseload and work with rehabilitation therapy workers to implement therapeutic programs.
* Provide supervision to junior Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, and Reablement therapy workers.
