Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a proven track record of successful product design in consumer durables and/or have extensive experience of designing plastic injection moulded components.
Responsibilities
* Respond to commercial briefs for product specifications.
* Lead the design and development of innovative engineering solutions from concept to completion.
* Utilise CAD for creating detailed designs, schematics, and technical drawings.
* Collaborate with project management teams to ensure timely delivery of projects while adhering to specifications and budgets.
* Conduct data analysis to evaluate design performance and identify areas for improvement.
* Build prototypes and conduct testing to validate designs against project requirements.
* Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in design engineering.
* Prepare technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and user manuals.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Design Engineer or in a similar role within an engineering environment.
* Strong, demonstrated proficiency in 3D CAD software and the ability to create complex schematics.
* Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully leading engineering projects.
* Experience of designing components for plastic injection moulding domestic components and materials is essential
* Experience of commissioning injection mould tools is preferred but not essential
* Experience of Siemens NX is preferred but not essential
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
* A degree in Product Design or Engineering.
