Job Title: Principal Electrical Power Engineer
Location: Barrow-In-Furness (Hybrid) – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
* Functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment
* Authoring and reviewing technical documentation
* Managing associated technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies
* Providing advice on electrical power technical aspects across a broad range of engineering disciplines
* Engaging with customers and suppliers to provide solutions to complex problems
* Leading and mentoring junior team members through the systems definition process
* Travel opportunities across various locations in the UK, including BAE, customer, and supplier sites
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering experience
* Chartership in engineering (or significant progress towards it)
* Extensive knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience with Permanent Magnet Motors/Generators

The Steam Integrated Design Team (IDT):
As a Principal Electrical Power Engineer, you will join a new team working on pioneering technologies for the British Navy, focusing on Turbo Generators. We provide relocation support for eligible roles across all Submarine positions.
