Gap Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a well-established automotive manufacturing business for a Planning & Logistics Coordinator. This is a key, customer-facing role responsible for coordinating demand, planning production, and managing the end-to-end supply chain process to ensure excellent service delivery.
You will act as the central link between automotive customers, internal operations, and suppliers, ensuring customer demand is met efficiently from order receipt through to final delivery.
Duties & responsibilities as a Planning & Logistics Coordinator:
* Act as the main point of contact for key automotive customers, internal teams and suppliers.
* Manage customer orders and schedules, coordinating the full order-to-delivery (OTD) process.
* Analyse customer demand and production capacity to create aligned, achievable production plans.
* Monitor and report KPIs, including On-Time In-Full (OTIF) performance and customer satisfaction.
* Proactively challenge poor supplier performance and resolve service issues.
* Work closely with customers to develop accurate forecasts and manage ongoing demand.
* Plan and schedule supporting raw materials with suppliers to meet production and customer requirements.
* Manage inventory levels, including safety stock, balancing availability with stock-hold costs.
* Respond quickly to supply chain disruptions, including unplanned demand or stock loss.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key skills & qualifications as a Planning & Logistics Coordinator:
Essential
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a customer-facing supply chain, MP&L, logistics or account management role.
* Automotive industry experience .
* Strong planning capability with the ability to convert customer demand into executable production plans.
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
* Highly organised, able to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Intermediate to advanced Excel skills .
* Strong customer-focused mindset with a commitment to high service levels.
Preferred
* Previous experience in a production planning role (2+ years).
