About the Role The Science Teacher will deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable), helping students develop strong scientific knowledge, investigative skills and a deeper understanding of the world around them. Working closely with the Head of Department and wider teaching team, you will contribute to curriculum development, STEM enrichment opportunities and whole-school initiatives that promote curiosity, critical thinking and academic success. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities Teach Science across KS3–KS4 (KS5 desirable), specialising in Biology, Chemistry or Physics Prepare students effectively for GCSE examinations and practical assessments Differentiate learning to support SEND, EAL and high-attaining pupils Use formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and inform teaching Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement in line with school policy Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental meetings and moderation processes Support extracurricular activities such as STEM clubs, science fairs or enrichment projects Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress Uphold safeguarding, equality and school policies at all times The Ideal Candidate Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry or Physics Excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies Ability to motivate, challenge and inspire learners Skilled in using assessment data to raise attainment Strong communication and organisational skills Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Legal right to work in the UK About the School in Bradford The school in Bradford is proud of its inclusive and supportive ethos, with a strong focus on academic progress and personal development.
