Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Workshop Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a range of vehicles including Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs), and various workshop tools and equipment. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong technical knowledge, and a commitment to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on HGVs, LCVs, and plant/tools to industry standards.
* Perform routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
* Use diagnostic tools and software to identify vehicle and equipment issues.
* Carry out MOT preparations and safety inspections.
* Maintain accurate service records and job sheets.
* Ensure all workshop tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.
* Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
* Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure timely and efficient repairs.
* Provide technical advice and support to less experienced team members when necessary.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience working as a mechanic on HGVs and LCVs.
* Knowledge of workshop tools and small equipment maintenance and repair.
* Valid UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential).
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexible, reliable, and committed to high standards of workmanship.
Desirable:
* Experience working in a busy commercial fleet environment.
* NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent qualification).

Pay: £160.00-£180.00 per day
