We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 12 Month Contract Language Specialist to join our team, with a focus on the Korean language. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing language assets’ logic and coherence, grammar and punctuation, spelling, consistency, style, language usage, and formatting, improving customer streaming experience with Amazon language solutions and process-centered approaches. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, proofreading and editing risk reports, engineering correspondence, and a variety of other written and electronic communications.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Review and refine Korean-to-Korean transcriptions, adjust timing points of dialogues, and apply appropriate speaker identification throughout content.
2. Identify cultural references and idioms, highlight gestures or behaviors needing adaptation, and track honorific levels and relationship dynamics specific to Korean language and culture.
3. Support quality control for accuracy, verify timing alignment and character name consistency, ensure proper script formatting, and flag technical issues.
4. Assist in developing and implementing language-related technology/products to ensure Korean language service quality and consistency.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand language requirements and provide tailored solutions.
6. Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in language services, especially in streaming and entertainment.
7. Contribute to improving language processes and workflows for Korean language capabilities.
8. Provide guidance and training to team members on Korean language matters, sharing expertise.
Qualifications include:
* Bachelor's degree
* Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
* Translation experience across various formats, preserving original meaning, style, and tone
* Advanced proficiency in Korean (native speaker level), with deep understanding of linguistic nuances and cultural sensitivities
* Effective collaboration with project managers, auditors, and subject matter experts
* Ability to work independently and make complex decisions with minimal guidance
* Business level Japanese proficiency

* Expertise in providing high-quality Korean language services (translation, interpretation, linguistic support)
* Passion for media and entertainment, especially streaming services
