Overview
Our Bailiff Managers play a critical role in helping deliver justice. This role enables you to demonstrate and develop leadership skills while ensuring your team delivers excellent administrative support and customer service to service users, judiciary, and management. You will lead your team, prioritise and organise work, ensure the team is fully skilled to meet objectives, and contribute to operational performance and service standard targets. You will provide statistical data for the management team and judiciary, monitor performance areas and trends, review procedures and work practices, and recommend improvements, including implementing new initiatives and legislation. This is a challenging and rewarding role central to the smooth running of HMCTS operations. We support leadership development through the HMCTS leadership offer, with activities ranging from development programmes to bite-size guides to build capability and confidence to lead and inspire others.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Bailiff team to deliver excellence in administrative support and customer service to service users, judiciary and management.
* Ensure work is prioritised, organised and that the team has the skills to meet objectives.
* Monitor and analyse performance areas and trends, review procedures and practices, and implement improvements and new initiatives and legislation.
* Contribute to delivery of operational, performance and service standard targets and provide data and insights to management and judiciary.
* Support the wellbeing and motivation of the team to sustain high levels of performance.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Ability to motivate and support a team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve effective performance.
* Experience in an administrative role in a customer-focused environment.
* IT proficiency with the ability to learn and adapt to different technologies and software packages.
* Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
* Driving is an essential part of the role. A valid driving licence and access to a road-worthy vehicle are required. You must be fit to drive and prepared to use your own car for work purposes; a UK driving licence is required for any lease car arrangements after probation (if offered).
* Evidence of experience and a Statement of Suitability. Submit truthful and accurate information; plagiarism avoidance is required.
Working Arrangements
The MoJ offers hybrid working where business needs allow, with a minimum expectation of in-office presence. Roles are based in the UK and not overseas. Nationally advertised roles are appointed to the nearest viable office to the home postcode, subject to desk allocation and pay scales. For current MoJ employees, base location may be changed to the nearest viable office within the National Office Network. Arrangements are discussed and reviewed with successful candidates and are subject to change. Flexible working patterns, including part-time and job-sharing options, will be considered where they meet role demands and business needs.
