What you will do: Work closely with outpatient department staff, ward managers, and specialist nurses to deliver high-quality care to patients. Make informed decisions and be accountable for them, while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to NMC and hospital codes. Document patient care accurately according to hospital policies and actively participate in professional development and training. Support the provision of a welcoming, caring, and safe environment for patients and their families. Remove sutures, administer injections, and undertake wound care, ensuring your competencies are up-to-date and documented. Provide comprehensive patient education and counselling before and after surgeries, assisting in informed decision-making. Guide patients in their recovery, acting as a key contact for queries and providing postoperative reassurance. Attend theatres and pre-operative wards to ensure continuity of care and a familiar presence for the patients. Assist in minor surgical procedures and develop competence in using the slit lamp. Manage and maintain stock levels of consumables and drugs required for the oculoplastic practice. Assist with risk assessments and ensure compliance with hospital policies and national regulations.
