About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Bid Writer to join their dynamic Bid Team. This permanent position focuses on central government contracting, with a particular emphasis on bids for the Ministry of Justice, Home Office, and related detention/accommodation contracts.

You will play a key role in developing high-quality written content for bids and proposals, ensuring responses are compelling, compliant, and clearly articulate our clients’ solutions. While experience in the criminal justice or detention sectors is highly desirable, our client welcomes applications from candidates with a strong track record in central government bidding.

Responsibilities

* Translate complex technical and operational information into clear, engaging, and persuasive content.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather data and insights for bid development.
* Research and incorporate relevant statistics and supporting evidence into proposals.
* Manage the editorial aspects of the bid process, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance.
* Develop reusable content and collateral to support future bids.
* Support bid coordination and contribute to a high-performance, win-focused team culture.
* Attend meetings and site visits as required to inform bid content and strategy.

Ideal Candidate Profile

* Proven experience in writing and delivering successful bids and tenders, ideally within central government.
* Strong understanding of public sector procurement, particularly Ministry of Justice and Home Office contracts (desirable)
* Exceptional written communication skills – clear, methodical, and engaging.
* Ability to work collaboratively, motivate stakeholders, and manage multiple priorities.
* Comfortable with feedback and editing of written work.
* Strong project management and organisational skills.
* High level of initiative, creativity, and problem-solving ability.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and online procurement portals.
* Interest in the public sector and justice system.
