The role
As a Senior Human Factors Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll join our team to perform and deliver comprehensive Ergonomics and Human Factors analysis for design MoD Projects on Royal Navy Future Submarines. Your expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing the functionality and safety of cutting-edge submarine technology.
Day-to-day, you'll collaborate closely with our in-house design teams and external partners to ensure Human Factors are integrated at the earliest stages of our solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
Working with customers and industrial partners.
Ensuring Human Factors are considered within training courses, maintenance, and other support activities.
Managing and delivering the dedicated Human Factors elements of projects and programmes.
Leading a small team to ensure timely delivery of contractual obligations against time, cost, and quality.
Analysing data sets to formulate reports for presentation to customers.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Human Factors Engineer
Extensive understanding of Ergonomics and Human Factors engineering, with a proven track record of delivering Human Factors programmes on complex projects.
Provide guidance on appropriate methodologies and approaches to meet requirements effectively.
Apply Human Factors Integration principles to Defence engineering projects.
Exhibit excellent communication skills, capable of justifying engineering decisions and considerations.
Demonstrate critical thinking abilities to understand complex issues, balance detail with the big picture, and make sound decisions that positively impact projects.
Qualifications for the Senior Human Factors Engineer
Hold a relevant engineering degree or possess applicable experience
Achieved Chartered Engineer status or show willingness to work towards it as part of continuous professional development.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
