About The Role
We are seeking an Engineering Shift Manager (Nights) to join our Manufacturing Operations at the Greenside Bradford site. This role is vital for ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing site.
Responsibilities include:
Minimizing Machinery Downtime: Proactive and predictive maintenance, along with quick responses to breakdowns, to keep equipment operational and meet production schedules.
Improving Performance: Continually seeking process enhancements, upgrades, and data-driven improvements to optimize equipment performance without compromising quality.
Engineer Engagement: Motivating and engaging the engineering team through training, development, and recognition to foster productivity and innovation.
Asset Care Programme: Leading strategies to maintain and extend asset lifespan, reduce costs, and ensure adherence to best practices.
Hands-On Approach: Demonstrating leadership through direct involvement in equipment repair and optimization.
Maintenance Coordination: Collaborating with the Maintenance team to prioritize and plan maintenance activities, preventing disruptions.
Crisis Incident Management: Preparing for and managing incidents, accidents, and near misses to uphold safety standards.
Discipline and Grievance: Enforcing disciplinary procedures and managing grievances to maintain a positive work environment.
About You
In addition to working efficiently at pace, you should have:
NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent (e.g., ONC, BTEC in mechanical/electrical engineering)
Proven experience in an engineering and fault-finding role within an FMCG environment, preferably food industry
Experience in people management and achieving results through teams
Understanding of HACCP principles; IEE qualification up to 18th edition wiring regulations is desirable
Excellent communication skills
Assertiveness and decisive decision-making ability
A proactive attitude and strong work ethic
