Track / Civils CEM (Contractor’s Engineering Manager)
Location: Kent (3-4 days per week on site)

Salary: Up to £90,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus
The Role
This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring engineering excellence, safety, and compliance across major rail infrastructure projects.
As a CEM, you will take full responsibility for engineering delivery within your discipline, ensuring all works are planned, managed, and executed in line with industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the appointed Contractor’s Engineering Manager (CEM) for track and/or civil engineering works
- Provide technical leadership and assurance across project delivery
- Ensure compliance with Network Rail standards and relevant legislation
- Manage engineering interfaces and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
- Review and approve designs, methodologies, and technical submissions
- Support project teams with risk management and technical problem-solving
Requirements
- Current Authorization as a CEM in Track and/or Civil Engineering
- Strong experience working with a main contractor on UK rail infrastructure projects
- Availability to work in Kent 3-4 days per week
- Excellent knowledge of Network Rail standards and processes
Desirable
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng)
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams on complex rail projects
