Do you have the experience of supporting projects and are you keen to help residents in our county thrive? If so, you may be the perfect fit for our Homeless Prevention Employment Specialist (HPES) - Team Leader in the Employability and Skills team at East Sussex County Council.
The post holder will lead a team of Employment Specialists who support residents experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness to secure and sustain meaningful employment as part of the Connect to Work programme. In addition to overseeing the team, they will hold a small personal caseload, ensuring they remain actively involved in service delivery. They will be responsible for managing caseload distribution across the team and ensuring staff receive the training, guidance and support required to excel in their roles. The post holder will ensure the HPES service is delivered in line with supported employment principles set out in the Individual Placement & Support (IPS) and Supported Employment Quality Frameworks (SEQF). A key aspect of the role will involve building strong working relationships with District and Borough Councils, housing teams, accommodation providers and community organisations to promote the programme and strengthen referral pathways.
We are looking for candidates who:
* Can plan and organise varied workloads, for themselves and others
* Can supervise, motivate and support staff
* Have experience of delivering customer focused services and engaging new participants onto programmes
* Can communicate effectively with diverse audiences, influencing and supporting change through excellent negotiation skills
* Can Interpret and analyse complex data
* Has working knowledge of employment and skills support particularly for vulnerable people
