The role of SOE is critical in providing victims of sexual assault with the dedicated support and care required. We're looking for caring and compassionate RNs, Midwifes, RMNs or Paramedics to join us as Sexual Offence Examiners to provide holistic care and support to victims of sexual assault.
As a Sexual Offence Examiner, you'll receive full training and support to become a qualified Forensic Practitioner, with further opportunities to undertake additional higher education after one year in-post.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Develop Forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines.
* Conduct forensic examinations and obtain forensic exhibits.
* Work actively in partnership with external MDTs and Police.
* Serve as the first point of contact for victims, Police, and Social Services to discuss referral pathways.
* Manage and promote the self-referral pathway.
* Undertake holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
* Support the continued quality improvement of the service.
* Work under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements.
* Obtain consent for health and forensic procedures.

About the Role

Additional Locations:
* South Yorkshire SARC
* West Yorkshire SARC
* North Yorkshire SARC
Salary: £43,005.07 FTE based on 40 hours/week. This role is for 32 hours/week.
Hours: Shifts between 9am-5pm, 5pm-1am, and 1am-9am, on a rota basis covering 24/7, 365 days/year. On-call working from home during out-of-hours periods.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife, Paramedic
* Applications from females only due to the nature of the role, under the Sex Discrimination Act, Sections 7(2)b and 7(2)e
* UK driving license and access to a vehicle required for travel across SARCs
* Advanced DBS and Level 2 Police vetting required
Experience
* Minimum of 3+ years relevant post-qualification experience
* Knowledge of safeguarding children and adults
* Understanding of confidentiality
* Experience working autonomously
