Overview
As an Operations Support Coordinator, you will be joining our team in Shropshire, providing a range of waste and recycling services to the local authority and local residents. The role is based in Craven Arms, working as part of our household waste collection team.
Responsibilities
* Allocate work and issue instructions to collection crews without direct management authority
* Conduct daily end-of-shift driver debriefs and provide verbal instructions via telephone
* Plan and execute weekly/monthly tasks including payroll, purchase ledger, depot reports, and supply management
* Provide advice on payroll and purchase ledger queries with autonomy to spend up to £500 without approval
* Manage annual Assisted and Additional capacity reviews involving written correspondence and telephone follow-ups with residents
* Handle daily communication with waste management teams, residents, contractors, and suppliers via phone and email
* Apply Veolia procedures for payroll, purchasing, fleet compliance, and health & safety legislation
* Support contract manager with communication campaigns and maintain operational focus on service level improvements
Qualifications
* Administration experience within an operational environment
* Experience of handling customer queries and complaints
* Experience of financial administrative processes
* Proficient / Advanced level of IT, particularly spreadsheets
* Proficient numerical skills
* A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
* Driving licence
* IOSH Managing Safely
