The evolved organisation includes housing various creative hubs (Vehicle, Brand, Digital and Materiality Design), which are pivotal in our inflection towards a Modern Luxury future and reflects the growing importance to the entire enterprise.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
This role represents an exciting opportunity within the newly created Brand Design team.
The successful candidate will be a design leader with an established reputation within their industry, responsible for delivering Industrial design solutions, of the highest luxury craftsmanship and execution, for future Collections & Collaborations. They will ensure designs are distinct and showcase the individuality of our House of Brands.
Knowledge, skills & experience:
Reporting to the Brand Design Director you will be responsible for delivering unique products for the JLR House of Brands, with a “Modern Luxury” focussed mindset, leading Industrial Design projects that will be an instrumental part of our luxury lifestyle collections. You will be accountable for delivering projects with a set timeline, cost, specification, and quality, and working closely with Product Developers, Marketing, Licensing & Design stakeholders.
1. Managing multiple fast paced projects across different categories of product (Hard and Soft line), supporting design briefs from Creative and Commercial.
2. Conceiving, modelling, prototyping, and verifying products to ensure consistency is kept during the execution phase.
3. Delivering projects to the highest level of maturity, refinement and feasibility.
4. Working closely with the Commercial teams to identify new product and categories.
5. Analysing market needs & consumer preferences
6. Collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver fully feasible designs ready for manufacture.
Essential:
7. A design leader with an established reputation within their industry.
8. Ability to define and effectively communicate Modern Luxury for the brand.
9. Expertise in strategic frameworks and tools of research and insights.
10. Specialist ability to translate a strategy into a plan with clear outcomes and objectives.
11. Strong understanding of competitive environment and Modern Luxury trends and the drive to act on insights quickly.
12. Commercially minded driving brand performance, always representing the best interests of the brand.
