Overview
At Soho House a Gym Manager is dedicated to health and wellness as well as overall fitness. The Gym Manager is a dynamic role that oversees every aspect of the day-to-day management of Soho House fitness centres. Responsibilities include ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the gym, maintaining equipment in excellent working condition, and creating and scheduling classes and personal training sessions. The successful Gym Manager is an energetic and enthusiastic leader who ensures locker rooms and saunas are hygienic, schedules the gym team, and oversees the work of the gym staff.
Responsibilities
* Influential fitness leader responsible for providing high-quality fitness training, advice, programs, and inductions to members and staff as well as overseeing staffing levels and member events.
* Oversee team management including recruitment, onboarding, training, payroll, disciplinary procedures, staff performance, conducting appraisals, and strategizing with leadership to assess staff development while maintaining professional relationships.
* Monitor and analyse delivery of services to identify opportunities for quality improvement, track attendance figures, and make changes to increase profit margins and revenue streams.
* Collaborate with the Marketing and Events Team to promote facility services and amenities, optimizing new membership and potential profit increases.
* Vendor management and supply and procurement activities, dealing with equipment manufacturers to ensure all gym equipment complies with safety and Soho House standards and organizing repair, cleaning, maintenance, and purchase of gym machines.
* 5+ years experience in a similar fitness role.
* Personal training certification (minimum Level 3 qualification).
* First aid certification and knowledge.
* Strong communication and people skills.
* Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
* Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects by hand.
* Able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
* Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.

Location
Soho House Manchester is located in the St John’s area in the heart of the city. The venue spans five floors of the former Granada Studios and features an extensive gym, steam room, sauna, outdoor rooftop pool surrounded by sunbeds and a bar, a late-night bar and live music space, casual lounge areas on the eighth floor, a members’ restaurant for formal dining, and 23 bedrooms on the sixth floor.
