Reed Accountancy are currently assisting an established client in the Crawley area in the recruitment of a Japanese speaking Finance Assistant on a 12 month fixed term contract. This role will support their finance team and Group Accountant in all finance activities and is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely financial operations within our organisation. Day-to-day of the role: Ensure that Exchequer and Yayoi bank information is kept up-to-date on a daily basis. Process transactions accurately and promptly. Input bank statements in Exchequer and Yayoi for all banks. Conduct daily bank reconciliations in Exchequer and Yayoi. Process sales slips in both Yayoi and Exchequer. Produce and send transaction reports weekly. Send sales slip reminder emails monthly. Post purchase invoices and sales invoices weekly. Process sales orders in Exchequer. Produce and send outstanding SOR reports weekly. Handle postings for expenses, payroll, and petty cash. Manage invoice financing, bank postings, and post-dated cheque postings, including month-end reconciliation. Approve payments and send monthly FX rates to the Japan sales team. Adjust Yayoi FX rates and monitor commission payable. Provide support and cover for the rest of the Japan Finance team. Allocate all debtor and creditor accounts. Calculate and accrue monthly Corporation Tax. Perform Yayoi to Exchequer balance sheet reconciliation. Undertake other ad-hoc month-end duties as required by the Japan Accountant or Financial Controller. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience with financial software, ideally Exchequer and Yayoi. Strong understanding of financial processes and accounting principles. Proven ability to handle multiple tasks with high attention to detail. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting are preferred.
