What you’ll do
To be part of a small, dedicated team in VBSE managing predominantly transmission-based networks and providing operational support. You will be responsible for owning the relationship with the stakeholders, supporting both technical and stakeholder needs to understand their requirements. This role requires a passionate individual who can work effectively with the team to drive an excellent service.
1. Manage dedicated services for key VBSE stakeholders.
2. Work effectively with stakeholders in relation to the deployment and ongoing support for given projects.
3. Perform regular audits on the networks and systems.
4. Make innovative recommendations to VBSE management/stakeholders to drive improvements.
5. Work closely with the project team to provide regular updates
6. Carry out analytical diagnostics on the network
7. Liaise with wider parties to coordinate the end-end process
8. Point of contact for any major incidents and carry out problem management, escalating when necessary
Who you are
9. Be able to maintain confidentiality and hold security clearance.
10. A clear and analytical approach to problem management.
11. The ability to work in a high pressurised environment
12. Strong written and verbal communication skills
13. Willingness to learn new skills such as
14. basic network configuration of the Ciena/Photonic Cross Connects,
15. trouble shooting and fault finding
16. Understanding of Transmission equipment and networks such as Ciena
17. Telco, Network Operations background/qualifications is desired
18. Understanding of ITIL working practices
19. Basic concept of IP networking, switching and routing
20. Understanding of Cybersecurity
