Are you an Accredited Clinical Coder with experience working within an acute NHS hospital setting? The Clinical Coding team at our hospital site Peterborough are looking to recruit to our substantive team of multi‑skilled specialist Clinical Coders. The successful candidate will be ACC qualified with experience in coding a broad range of clinical specialties.
Applicants must demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with clinicians and all relevant support staff to ensure our coded data reflects accurately the care of our patients. Excellent analytical and judgement skills are essential, as is a good working knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy across a range of clinical specialties.
You will be responsible for managing your own workload each day within the usual deadlines for submission of data. You will translate clinical information into diagnostic and procedure codes from patient health records scanned onto an electronic document management system and a variety of other electronic sources. Conduct validation exercises with the responsible Consultant to ensure correct assignment of diagnostic and procedure codes and identify gaps in clinical documentation to support clinical coding.

* ACC Clinical Coder Band 5 - £32,073-£39,043 (dependent upon years of experience) per annum
