This role is key in ensuring that our team and work sites are compliant with all health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare site specific RAMS, communicate with site and the on-field team.
* Ensure that all employees are knowledgeable about their specific safety responsibilities.
* Ensure all safety-related documentation, including risk assessments, training records, and incident reports, is up to date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
* Prepare and submit required safety reports to management and regulatory agencies.
* Monitor changes in safety regulations and make necessary updates to company policies.
* Investigate any accidents, injuries, or near-misses that occur on job sites, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
* Maintain records of all incidents and accidents, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
* Implement corrective actions and monitor their effectiveness.
* Develop, review, and update company-wide health and safety policies and procedures.
* Advise management on health and safety matters, ensuring that policies reflect best practices and legal requirements.
* Ensure that all employees have access to and are using the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) for roofing tasks.
* Conduct regular checks to ensure safety equipment is in good condition and replace any worn or damaged items.
* Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and emergency contact lists.
* Conduct mock drills to ensure workers know how to respond in the event of a fire, injury, or other emergency.
* Work closely with site supervisors, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure safety is prioritized across all phases of roofing projects.
* Assist in selecting and training subcontractors on safety protocols.
* Communicate with senior management about the status of safety efforts, ongoing safety issues, and areas for improvement.
* Conduct and organise various statutory safety testing/calibration and allocate certification.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a Health and Safety role, within the construction or roofing industry.
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification.
* Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and industry standards (especially for roofing).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to various sites.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience with roofing systems and working at height regulations.
* IOSH Managing Safely or other relevant certifications.
* First aid certification.
