<div><p>Location: Dunstable</p><p>Salary: £26,651 – £31,982 (pro rata) per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.</p><p>Expires: 30/06/2026 23:59</p><h3>Role</h3><p>Trainee Lecturer – English (Maternity Cover)</p><h3>Location</h3><p>Central Bedfordshire College – Dunstable</p><h3>Salary and Benefits</h3><p>£26,651 – £31,982 (pro rata) per annum, 35 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata), Teacher’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, professional and personal development opportunities.</p><h3>Hours</h3><p>18.5 hours per week, 52 weeks.</p><h3>Contract Type</h3><p>Part‑time, Permanent</p><h3>About the Role</h3><p>We are seeking a Trainee Lecturer to join the English and Maths Department at The Bedford College Group.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Plan, prepare, and deliver high‑quality courses, ensuring inclusive, engaging learning that meets awarding body standards and individual student needs.</li><li>Guide, mentor, and monitor students through tutorials, assessment, and feedback to help them achieve success.</li><li>Design and assess work, track performance, maintain records, and ensure compliance with quality standards, verification, and moderation processes.</li><li>Contribute to innovative teaching, course development, employer links, and wider activities such as marketing events, open days, and student recruitment.</li><li>Uphold college values, safeguarding, and student experience, complete administrative duties, collaborate with colleagues, and support departmental and college‑wide initiatives.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications and Attributes</h3><ul><li>Degree in a relevant subject area, GCSE English and Maths (Grade A‑C).</li><li>Willingness to achieve PGCE/Cert Ed.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality learning experiences, support student progress, and contribute to curriculum development across FE levels.</li><li>Strong communication and organisational skills, able to meet deadlines and work independently or collaboratively.</li><li>Proficiency in IT (Microsoft Office, Teams) and commitment to continuous improvement.</li><li>Detail‑oriented, adaptable, resilient under pressure, builds positive relationships, handles confidential information, demonstrates leadership and values of equality, safeguarding, and professionalism.</li><li>Flexible and mobile, willing to travel across campuses and adjust hours; holds relevant training (First Aid, safeguarding, EDI, ITQ).
