About The Role
We are seeking a Funeral Operative who will provide exceptional care when bringing the deceased into our care and during the day of the funeral. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills to ensure the safe and comfortable transportation of client families in our hearses and limousines. This role requires effective teamwork as well as the ability to work independently, especially under pressure. We are looking for someone who is both caring and empathetic to the needs of our clients and colleagues. Attention to detail is a prerequisite.
About You:
This position is based at our Baddow Road Operations Centre, and we prefer applicants to be within a 10-mile radius. The core working hours are 39 hours per week, with additional hours on evenings and weekends when participating in our "On Call" rota outside of regular office hours. While some experience in the funeral industry is preferred, it is not required, as full training will be provided once hired.
You will be responsible for:
* Acting as an ambassador for the business at all times
* Providing dignified and respectful care of the deceased
* Bringing the deceased into our care
* Driving and bearing during funerals to the highest standards
* Delivering exceptional client care

Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society Ltd was established in 1867, following a meeting of workers from a local ironworks, 23 years after the founding of the first Co-operative Society.
