Role Purpose
This is a permanent role within Scran Academy with the core purpose of leading and managing the delivery anddevelopment of our Academy Programme.
The successful candidate will help change the lives of young people facing poverty by supporting them through ayear-long programme of learning in a youth work setting. Each year the post holder will support a cohort of 15young people at S4 and S5 to guide their own education and gain positive experiences through a blend ofvocational training, accreditation, 1-2-1 delivery and outcomes-driven youth work.
We are an organisation committed to the welfare and safety of young people. The Academy Programme Lead will be aco-lead in our safeguarding processes, and be a key player in ensuring child protection is paramount across theorganisation.
We are a youth-led organisation. Young people come to us to learn in a bespoke way. They set their own outcomes andgoals, and co-design the nature of the programme accordingly. This means both relationship-building andrecord-keeping are absolutely central to the role. Using a Theory of Change approach, the post holder will beexpected to compassionately support young people to dream big, developing unapologetically ambitious goals andachieving meaningful steps towards them, tracking impact along the way through tailored planning, delivery andevaluation.
We are an independent SQA centre, allowing us to offer young people the opportunity to gain qualifications outside ofthe classroom. Leading a team of youth workers, the post holder will design and deliver exciting, experientiallearning sessions for the programme that maximise positive impact for young people. They will also proactivelyengage in all necessary compliance and training required for the SQA, and ensure continuous capture andcelebration of young people’s progress.

The Academy Programme Lead will be key to ensuring young people areengaged with opportunities across our organisation.
The post holder will act as a critical relationship builder and point of contact for young people on the programme,and be the operational link for families and referral partners, including schools.

Key Accountabilities:
* Delivering fundraising priorities and targets for trusts and the foundation's income, including our current and future major appeals.

* Working with colleagues across the organisation to help shape projects for funding and creating strong Cases for Support to ensure effective applications.

What they have in common is a drive to support positive change andan ability to take a project through from initial idea to completion and product development.

* Working with partners to develop and design projects and programmes using the broad parameters of our innovationapproach.
* Developing and delivering engaging workshops and facilitated discussions, both online and inperson.
* Delivering projects to overall time and budget, using the right project management approach forthe task.

The Research Analysis Lead role is to provide high quality research and analysis support to the Iriss team. There area number of specified key activities attached to the role.

CSWO ANNUAL REPORT SUMMARY
Iriss is funded by the Office of the Chief Social Work Adviser in the Scottish Government to undertake the analysis,and produce an overview, of the Chief Social Work Officer (CSWO) Annual Reports.
These annual reports are a means for Councils to report on the delivery of social work services in their area,highlighting key activities, developments, and challenges. The summary report document that you will produce isintended to highlight key themes drawn from the reports received to improve understanding of the performance,improvement and challenges being experienced across the sector.
ADULT SUPPORT AND PROTECTION (ASP) BIENNIAL REPORT SUMMARY
This report provides a summary of the main themes emerging from the 32 ASP biennial reports from across Scotland,giving a general overview of the ASP landscape. Iriss is funded to analyse and report on behalf of the ScottishGovernment and the report you complete will be submitted to them.
ASP QUARTERLY DATASET ANALYSIS AND PRESENTATION
Iriss has been involved with the ASP community in Scotland over the last three years to develop a new minimum datasetthat ASP Committees can report against. That is now complete and the 32 Committees have started to submitquarterly against this new dataset. The type of data collected include demographic and referral routeinformation, as well a number of other agreed on key areas. The role for you here will be to collate, analyseand visually present this quarterly data back to ASP practitioners and the Scottish Government.
Who we are looking for
This role would suit someone with the following qualities and experience:
* Desk/literature research and analysis skills: We are looking for someone with experience of theming and codinglarge amounts of material as this role involves the secondary analysis of research and reports.
* Clearand accessible writing style: Key delivery areas of the role are synthesising large amounts of narrative andwritten material from reports and succinctly summarising that material.
* Qualitative data analysis,interpretation and presentation: Ability and familiarity with the production of graphical representations anddata visualisations and an ability to carry out data quality control, validation and collation for large datasets is required.
* Spreadsheets: An advanced level of using MS Excel/Google sheets to analyse and presentdata is essential.
* Good communication and diplomacy: This role will involve working closely withcolleagues from Iriss and the Scottish Government to consider, draft and communicate these findings.
Specific experience in the third (charity) sector and/or social care/work areas are desirable but not arequirement.

* Meeting Scottish Government funders to talk through findings

The Youth and Children's Worker will take a lead in developing and supporting The BIG Project'scommunity-based services to children and young people aged 5 -18 years ensuring that these activities meet localneed and the targets negotiated with funders. The post holder will be responsible for developing an innovativeprogramme, including holiday provision, residential experiences, events, targeted groupwork, and individualsupport as well as leading on both the consultation and evaluation of this work. This will emphasisepreventative and anti-discriminatory approaches to working with children and young people with special regard tothe needs of those identified as being vulnerable.
