Responsibilities
* The successful candidate will support the vision for the school and implement strategies to achieve this vision. This is a key post which comes at an exciting and challenging time for education in the school. Inveralmond Community High School is a comprehensive non-denominational school in the Ladywell area of Livingston and serves a cluster of six primary schools.
* The school provides a broad education for young people from first year through to sixth year, offering a full curriculum. The successful candidate will assist in taking forward the principles of Curriculum for Excellence to support the improvement agenda of the authority.
* Effective learning and teaching is the core business of all staff. All staff are expected to set high expectations to help pupils achieve their full potential and become effective contributors, successful learners, confident individuals, and responsible citizens. Pupil learning is key, and we encourage pupils to be involved in the wider life of the school.
* The facility includes sports facilities such as a swimming pool, two floodlit all-weather pitches, dance and drama studios, ICT suites and a multi-media library, available to pupils during the day and after school.
Qualifications and requirements
* A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.
* This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment; the cost will be met by the candidate.
* PVG Scheme membership costs: Full £59; Existing Members £18.
