Shift Manager Role
The Shift Manager reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the daily shift operation in a cost-effective and productive manner. The role involves ensuring service levels meet the Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicator targets. This leadership position also requires effectively managing all colleagues on the shift to ensure customer expectations are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the warehousing operation for the shift, ensuring effective and accurate sortation of goods.
2. Ensure all activities are conducted in line with company policies, safely and proactively.
3. Manage costs and performance of the shift.
4. Lead and engage a team to deliver excellent customer service.
5. Manage performance, conduct, absence, engagement, and training and development of team members, holding staff accountable to departmental and company standards.
6. Monitor KPIs, identify and communicate actions, and highlight areas for improvement.
7. Provide a shift summary and handover record, detailing and addressing any exceptions.
Essential Criteria
* Previous experience in the logistics or distribution industry.
