We are looking for an experienced Security Manager to support the Operations Team in the management of site-based security operatives. Duties include staff inductions and training, liaising with external stakeholders such as police, local authorities, recruitment agencies, and completion of onboarding paperwork. You will be responsible for the delivery of inductions, training, and completion of Task Risk Assessment paperwork for security operatives. Ensuring Mitie’s Health & Safety procedures are followed and encouraging safe working practices. You will need to monitor officer performance, dealing with any issues efficiently and in a professional manner, and referring to your line manager where appropriate. Previous experience in a management role is essential. We’re looking for a candidate with good communication skills and an ability to adapt their approach to differing audiences. Solutions-oriented, you’ll be able to provide explanations and proposed solutions to any problems that arise.
Responsibilities
* Staff inductions and training, liaising with external stakeholders such as police, local authorities, recruitment agencies, and completion of onboarding paperwork.
* Delivery of inductions, training, and completion of Task Risk Assessment paperwork for security operatives.
* Ensuring Mitie’s Health & Safety procedures are followed and encouraging safe working practices.
* Monitoring officer performance, dealing with any issues efficiently and in a professional manner, and referring to line manager where appropriate.
* Build strong relationships with contract clients and external stakeholders and conduct audit inspections.
* Monitor performance against SLAs and security specifications.
* Manage security personnel and ensure Health & Safety compliance.
* Follow statutory fire and safety regulations to mitigate risks.
* Ensure service delivery across the contract and contracts aligns with company policies and procedures (HR, QHSE, RTW, Vetting, Compliance).
Qualifications and Requirements
* Previous experience in a management role is essential.
* Good communication skills and ability to adapt approach to differing audiences.
* Solutions-oriented, able to provide explanations and proposed solutions to any problems that arise.
* Proficient IT skills including MS Word and MS Excel.
* Organised with ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage competing demands.
* Strong understanding and respect for confidentiality.
