Quality & Safety – NHS AfC: Band 3. Contract: Permanent; 33.5 hours per week. Part time.

Within Clinical Quality there are three defined areas of activity: Safeguarding, Medicines Management, Infection Prevention, Quality and Safety. The Quality Data Assistant will work across all areas to provide an efficient, effective, high‑quality administrative and data input service that supports the Quality and Safety Team in meeting quality and performance KPIs.
Responsibilities
* Run system reports as required to ensure information is accurate and complete.
* Input information onto relevant systems in accordance with procedures, ensuring accuracy at all times.
* Answer telephone enquiries promptly and professionally; escalate those requiring input from the Head of Quality and Safety.
* Undertake scanning, photocopying, sorting and distribution of mail in line with organisational policy.
* Work independently and as part of a team to ensure timescales are met.
* Ensure all work complies with Caldicott principles and the Data Protection Act.
* Prioritise work in times of colleague absence or heavy workload.
* Develop reports to export and analyse data; assist with data quality validation exercises; submit and upload reports.
* Present data in a clear and understandable format, often complex and multi‑stranded.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification; Certificate in Excel.
* Excellent presentation skills; Advanced Excel functions (conditional formatting, data manipulation, VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, large datasets, combining datasets); Microsoft Access (tables, queries); Basic SQL and VBA.
* Experience working as a Data Assistant or equivalent role, using own initiative and within a team; confidentiality awareness.
* Experience in a customer‑facing environment; experience with NHS systems such as Child Health module of SystmOne and Datix is desirable.
* Experience in the NHS and with health care professionals; supervisory experience is desirable.

Desirable Qualifications
* European Computer Driving Licence; Certificate in Word; Experience using SystmOne Child Health module; Datix system; NHS experience; experience with health care professionals; basic SQL and VBA skills.
Other Requirements
* Ability to travel to locations within Essex; current valid driving licence with access to own transport.
* Mandatory training as per organisational matrix; compliance with policies and procedures.
