About the role:
Our Field Service Engineer’s (FSE) work on-site at customer locations in UK and abroad, either independently or as part of a small team. After completing product training (factory and on-the-job), you will install, commission, and test MSI-designed Weapon Systems using your electronic, digital, and electromechanical skills. This role involves working in harsh (hot and cold) environments in the UK and overseas as part of a small close-knit team, parting knowledge and sharing information is critical to the success of a first-time diagnosis of customer equipment failures.
Main key responsibilities include:
* Install, commission, repair, service, and train on Gunnery Systems and other company products.
* Providing technical estimates to sales teams and delivering technical outputs against project requirements.
* Conducting live firing of weapon-mounted systems (once trained and certified).
* Performing detailed fault diagnosis and testing to ensure accurate repairs.
* Coordinate with Project Managers and Service Delivery Manager for effective service delivery.
* Producing complete, accurate, and timely reports.
* Build and maintain positive customer relationships while delivering high standards of work.
* Adhere to all health and safety practices and procedures.
* Create and deliver training courses at the factory and customer locations.
* Attend sea and land trials and be adaptable to ship routines.
About you:
To be a successful candidate for this role you must be able to demonstrate the below attributes and skillsets:
Essential
Qualifications/ education requirements
* Deg/HND/HNC/ONC Electronic Engineering
Technical skills and experience
* Proven field service engineering, or similar experience.
* Ability to diagnose and repair digital, electronic, and electromechanical equipment.
* Competent in reading complex wiring diagrams and creating fault diagnosis instructions.
* High computer literacy (MS office and other CMMS/ERP systems).
Personal Attributes
* Reside within daily commutable distance of the Norwich Head office.
* Full driving license and ability to drive abroad.
* Valid passport with no travel restrictions.
* Physically fit to ENG 1 standard and capable of passing Sea Survival course.
Desirable
* Qualifications in Weapons inspection, repair and servicing.
* Experience of compiling and delivering Training courses.
* Previous customer facing Service Engineer role.
* Being familiar with practical problem-solving methods and LEAN.
