Speech and Language Therapist – Specialist Independent School
Location: Poole
Salary: £38,500 – £44,500 per annuum
Hours: 08:30am – 16:30pm Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Prospero Teaching are proud to be working in partnership with a specialist independent school that supports children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and other associated communication difficulties. The school is seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join their team.
About the Role:
As the school’s Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping pupils overcome communication barriers and reach their full academic and social potential. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality speech and language therapy services to both primary and secondary aged students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the delivery of speech and language therapy across the school.
2. Carry out assessments for both current and prospective pupils.
3. Design and implement individual and group therapy programmes.
4. Work closely with the Assistant Headteacher and SENDCo to ensure EHCP provision is in place and outcomes are achieved.
5. Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including teachers, support staff, and therapy assistants.
Requirements:
6. A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
7. Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
8. Experience working with children, ideally in special education or similar settings.
9. Strong understanding of speech, language, and communication needs.
10. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
