Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager to join our Large Corporates team. Preferred location: Flexible around our Scottish or Newcaslte offices Job Purpose: We are continuing to grow and are looking for talented individuals to join our Large Corporates tax team at Assistant Manager or Manager level. A role within our Large Corporate Tax team places you at the heart of our clients’ ambitions. We provide tailored tax advisory and compliance services for large companies, helping them navigate the increasingly complex world of corporate tax. From compliance to tax optimisation and strategic planning, our focus is on delivering value while managing risk. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to further develop their technical and client management skills, while working as part of a collaborative, supportive, and forward-thinking team. Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Supporting the delivery of corporate tax advice on a broad range of issues impacting large corporates, including interest deductibility, loss utilisation, hybrid mismatches, and international tax matters such as controlled foreign companies and double tax relief Contributing to tax due diligence and transaction support assignments, including research, analysis, and preparation of findings Managing a small portfolio of large corporate clients, taking responsibility for the delivery of high-quality tax compliance services and assisting with the review of work prepared by junior team members Building strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, contributing to the delivery of a seamless, high-quality client experience Assisting senior colleagues in identifying opportunities for additional tax advisory work and helping to prepare relevant proposals or materials Keeping up to date with changes in UK and international tax legislation and contributing to internal knowledge sharing Supporting the development of junior team members through on-the-job coaching and knowledge sharing About You: Relevant experience in corporate tax gained in practice or industry, ideally with exposure to large corporates or complex clients Strong technical knowledge and a willingness to continue developing in a supportive environment Proactive, with good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines Clear communicator who can engage effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels Professionally qualified (CA and/or CTA or equivalent) or working towards qualification Experience in mentoring or coaching junior team members is an advantage Candidates must have the right to work in the UK permanently and without any restrictions.
