The Senior Design Manager role
If you're an experienced Senior Design Manager looking to step up into a strategic leadership role, this is your opportunity to shape the future of major hospital projects. As Lead Senior Design Manager, you will:
1. Drive design strategy for major hospital projects.
2. Act as the strategic lead, ensuring technically compliant, cost-efficient solutions aligned with client requirements.
3. Influence early-stage design decisions and submissions to maximise value and win work.
4. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver innovative, compliant solutions.
5. Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, planning permissions, Building Regulations, CDM regulations, and contract-specific standards.
6. Identify opportunities for design improvement and manage risks effectively.
Your Profile
We're looking for a driven leader who thrives on complexity and client engagement:
7. Chartered professional (CIOB, RICS, ICE, RIBA).
8. Extensive experience in design management for large-scale projects (£300m+), ideally healthcare.
9. Strong knowledge of CDM and Building Regulations.
10. Expertise in P23, NEC3 contracts, and healthcare sector delivery.
11. Proven ability to lead strategically, influence decisions, and build strong client relationships.
