Position: Multi Skilled Engineering Technician (Blow Moulding Department)
Location: Manchester
Contract: Permanent, 4 on 4 off shifts (2 days & 2 nights, 7-7)
We are seeking a Multi Skilled Engineering Technician to join our Manchester Blow Moulding facility within Müller Milk & Ingredients.
As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you will provide safe front-line reactive maintenance, identify root causes, and restore equipment quickly. You will also seek and implement cost-effective improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
* Effective shift handovers
* Using PMS for prioritization and problem-solving (RCFA)
* Diagnosing faults, testing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment
* Reporting machinery defects and symptoms of failure, providing CMMS data
* Contacting OEMs and suppliers for technical support and parts procurement
* Leading shift-based problem solving
* Collaborating with First Line Response Technicians
* Coaching operators on asset care tasks
* Identifying and implementing improvements
* Addressing lifecycle issues with recommendations
* Applying 5WHY OE and RCA techniques for root cause analysis
* Supporting 5S programs in workshops and stores
Qualifications and experience:
* Recognized apprenticeship
* Maintenance experience in manufacturing
* Mechanical/electrical bias
* ONC/HNC qualification
* Multiskilled engineer experience
Note: This role involves rotating shifts on a 4 on 4 off schedule (days/nights).
