About the Role
As our Activities Coordinator, you'll play a vital part in helping residents lead meaningful, enjoyable lives through stimulating activities, social events, and one-to-one engagement. You'll work closely with residents, staff, and the wider community to create and deliver a varied programme of activities that support wellbeing, independence, and dignity.
Main Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging group and 1-to-1 activities based on residents' interests, needs, and preferences.
* Create and maintain individual social care plans for each resident within 2 weeks of admission.
* Organise events both inside and outside the home, ensuring accessibility and safety.
* Build relationships with local community groups, encouraging visits, volunteers, and outings.
* Celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and cultural or religious festivals.
* Keep accurate records of activities and ensure they are within the home's allocated budget.
* Support residents with dementia or mobility challenges during sessions.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of activities through feedback and resident participation.
What We're Looking For
* A warm, approachable personality with excellent communication and people skills.
* Creative, organised, and confident in planning and leading activities.
* Experience working with older people or in a care setting (preferred but not essential).
* An understanding of dementia and the importance of person-centred care.
* Ability to carry out light personal care in emergency situations.
* Comfortable liaising with families, staff, volunteers, and community groups.
* Knowledge of risk assessments and safeguarding (training can be provided).
