Position: Early Career Teacher (Science) Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent Start Date: 01/09/2026 Location: Hertfordshire, London Salary: £34,398 – £36,373 per year Salary will be paid at M1 in line with the Outer London Main Pay Scale and is suitable for an Early Career Teacher beginning their teaching career. About the Role Teach Now is recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school in Hertfordshire, rated “Good” by Ofsted (2024), for an Early Career Teacher (Science) to join their supportive Science department from September 2026. This full-time, permanent role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated ECT to begin their career in a school that values professional development, collaboration and high-quality teaching. You will teach General Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and a love of scientific learning. The school serves around 950 students aged 11–19 and offers modern facilities and well-equipped laboratories to support effective teaching and learning. Requirements To be eligible for this role, applicants must have: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be currently completing teacher training • A degree in Science or a related subject • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3/KS4 • Excellent communication and classroom management skills • A passion for engaging students and supporting academic progress Applications are welcomed from trainee teachers currently completing their PGCE.
