We hope you have a lovely Holiday season. We're seeking a detail-oriented Junior Software Test Engineer to join our quality assurance team at Livelink Technology. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance. You'll work alongside experienced QA professionals and development teams to identify issues, verify fixes, and help deliver exceptional software solutions to our customers. While this is a fully remote position, we maintain a strong culture of connection. We regularly host collaborative working days, team lunches, and company-wide town halls at our Havant office. As such, we are seeking a candidate who resides within a commutable distance or is willing to travel to Havant for these scheduled in-person gatherings. What you'll be doing Execute manual test cases across web, mobile, and desktop applications to identify bugs, inconsistencies, and usability issues Document and track defects using bug tracking systems, providing clear reproduction steps and relevant supporting information Verify bug fixes and provide timely feedback to the development team Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria Assist in analysing requirements and acceptance criteria with support from senior QA/Development team members Assist in creating and maintaining test documentation, including test cases Perform guided exploratory testing alongside scripted test execution and learn how to document exploratory findings clearly and concisely Actively participate in stand-ups by clearly communicating test progress and blockers Learn how to execute existing automated test suites, interpret test results, and report failures or anomalies to senior QA team members. Assist in maintaining existing automated tests (e.g. updating selectors, improving stability) under guidance Learn and begin implementing automated test cases under the guidance of senior team members Flag repeated failures or regressions to senior QA for discussion Gain exposure to release processes and QA sign-off practices Learn how QA contributes to safe and reliable deployments and support release testing activities and post-release verification Skill Stack Passion or experience in software testing or quality assurance (internships, hobbies and academic projects count) Eagerness to learn new technologies and testing tools Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Wow Factors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience (beneficial but not required) Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as Jira or similar platforms Basic understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript) Basic understanding of APIs Basic programming or scripting knowledge, ideally in Python, Javascript or Ruby Basic understanding of automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress or Selenium
