Medical Staffing Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a high performing individual to develop their skills. We are seeking a Medical Staffing Manager to cover a one-year secondment Critical Care and Anaesrthetics. Due to the short-term nature of the contract, the Clinical Group is looking for an individual with experience of working as a Band 6 or above in either an operational or clinical role.
The posts will have a day-to-day operational remit with a focus on delivery of performance targets and to support the transformation plans within the Clinical Group. The Manager will work closely with the Critical Care Manager, Theatre Manager, General Manager, Specialty Leads, Clinical Director to help run the medical staffing department, as well as having line management responsibility for admin and clerical staff within the Medical Staffing Office.
Main duties of the job
This is a key role within the Clinical Group’s Operational Management Team who will act as the technical expert for all medical staffing related activities within the Anaesthetic Department, which includes Critical Care. The post holder will take a lead role in the management and support of the medical staff working closely with the Clinical Group management team as well as Clinical Leads. The post holder will be responsible for providing advice and interpretation across a range of HR policies and procedures.

We also provide healthcare services to people in south west Essex, and specialist neurosciences services to the whole of the county.
Our services include all the major specialties of large acute hospitals and we operate from two main sites - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two of the busiest emergency departments in London – more than 300,000 people visited our A&Es in 2023. We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Community Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic, and Harold Wood Polyclinic.

1. Educated to degree level or equivalent level of ability gained through NHS experience in a management setting

2. Significant operational or clinical experience at a senior level (Band 6 or above)
3. Good knowledge of e-rostering packages

4. Proven experience working in a large multi-faceted organisation.
5. Experience of producing reports in a presentable format.
