About the role
As one of our Installation Specialists based in a Customer Delivery Hub, you'll deliver products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems and TV sets to customers’ doors.
You will work as part of a 2‑person delivery crew, driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.
Minimum age 18 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with outstanding customer service.
- Load the lorry with the day’s deliveries in cooperation with the warehouse team.
- Respect customers’ homes and solve unexpected situations to find the best solution.
- Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use to customers.
- Keep up to date with new products and technologies.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Handle heavy lifting of large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds and mattresses.
Essential skills / experience
- Previous installation experience; company will provide installer accreditation.
- Manual C1 UK driving licence with maximum 6 points.
- DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) or driver qualification card on day one.
- Tachograph card.
- Experience driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.
- Customer‑facing experience.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Good understanding of technology.
Desirable skills / experience
- Installation and disconnection of white goods.
- TV installation.
- Assembly of flat‑pack furniture.
Working hours
Full Time – 41 hours – four days from Monday to Saturday between 06:00 and 17:00.
