The Job
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the North-East. This role will provide vital commercial expertise & take responsibility for the financial delivery of retrofit & refurbishment projects.
You will ensure projects are procured & delivered within budget & to the highest standards of quality from early design pricing through to final figures. The role is key in minimising costs, maximising value for money & ensuring compliance with all legal & quality assurance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop a clear understanding of the designated contract, specification & pricing, ensuring compliance throughout.
* Support project leads & senior management with pre-start pricing, planning & programming.
* Lead on subcontractor procurement & commercial management.
* Oversee day-to-day cost control, monitoring & financial reporting.
* Measure progress, submit valuations, manage final accounts through to retention release & track payments in line with contracts.
* Liaise with project leads & senior management on material procurement & identify effective buying opportunities.
* Process subcontractor payment requests.
* Build & maintain strong working relationships internally and externally.
Skills & Experience
* Degree in Quantity Surveying (or related discipline)
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with retrofit, refurbishment, or energy-efficiency projects at least 3 years industry experience
* RICS membership (desirable)
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
* Excellent financial, numeracy & cost-management ability.
* Skilled communicator with strong negotiation capabilities.
* Ability to interpret & manage complex information.
* Proficient in IT and industry-relevant software.
