Our stunning care home, Guiseley Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built 72-bed facility located in the town of Guiseley, in the heart of West Yorkshire, Leeds. The home provides the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care to residents with various needs. We offer residential, nursing, and dementia care. The home reflects the New Care vision of delivering the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care. We invest in the latest technology and offer a purposeful programme of daily activities and gentle exercises to enhance residents' experience, care, and wellbeing. All team members are carefully selected for their warmth and passion, undergo a full induction, and receive ongoing training from our in-house trainers in conjunction with the New Care Academy. We have maintained a no agency staff policy for over 4 years by employing a permanent staff team to ensure continuity of care and trust with residents. Across New Care, all staff are paid at or above the national living wage.
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and experienced Chef to join our team. The role involves working with the Head Chef to ensure high-quality food service that supports residents' needs and contributes positively to their experience in the home. We offer a 40-hour contract with an hourly rate of £12.75. Shift times are 07:30-17:30, with alternate weekend work.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Ensure menus are presented and displayed clearly, allowing residents to understand and make daily choices.
2. Provide meals in sufficient quantities, considering dietary, medical, ethnic, and personal preferences.
3. Prepare nutritionally balanced, attractively presented meals in a timely manner and in the correct sequence.
4. Follow and adhere to company HACCP standards, ensuring full compliance.
5. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and serving areas, uphold infection control standards, and comply with the Food Standards Act 1999, including record-keeping.
6. Manage and supervise the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring quality service delivery.
7. Inspire and motivate the team to produce high-standard food.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Experience working during busy meal periods, including breakfast and evening service.
2. Experience working in a care home or similar environment.
3. Knowledge of specialized diets and service delivery.
4. Ability to contribute to and develop the four-week menu.
5. Ability to complete records demonstrating legal compliance.
