Overview
York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (YTHFM) are looking for approachable and flexible Cleaning & Catering Operatives to join our team at Scarborough General Hospital. Experience is not necessary as full training will be given, but a willingness to learn and develop your skills is essential.
The main function of this post is to participate in maintaining levels of cleanliness throughout a designated area, and providing a catering service.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the role are maintaining levels of cleanliness throughout a designated area, and providing a catering service on the wards.
* Ensure that the ward/area assigned to is cleaned in accordance with the work schedule for that area, including lifting items and operating cleaning machinery, some of which is industrial standard.
* Undertake specialist cleaning as required under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor, Nurse in Charge, and/or Infection Prevention Department.
* Assist with the distribution of meals to wards.
* Plate up meals, ensuring dietary requirements of patients are met.
* Make and distribute hot drinks, clean and refill water jugs.
