Artis recruitment has been engaged by a market leading retail brand to support their search for a Commercial Buying Partner.
The Commercial Buying Partner will support trading and buying teams by providing commercial insights, tools, and analysis to strengthen negotiation outcomes and vendor management. The successful candidate will champion the adoption of best practices in supplier engagement and pricing strategies, fostering consistency, efficiency, and value creation throughout the commercial function.
About the role
* Ensure vendor agreements are completed on time for trading teams, covering over £750m in branded cost of goods.
* Support the development of management information (MI) tools to improve visibility and outcomes in negotiations and supplier management.
* Maintain a central, systemised record of all vendor contract negotiations for assigned trading areas.
* Promote and maintain best practices in buying processes, aligned with legal and internal guidelines.
* Coordinate structured negotiation opportunities to maximise commercial value.
* Design and manage templates and workshops to embed negotiation best practices within trading teams.
* Ensure up-to-date market data including commodity, currency, and pricing trend is used proactively to secure the best buying prices.
Your experience
* Previous track record in a retail Buying/Trading role
* Deep understanding of negotiation tactics and support
* High proficiency in Excel, with good data analysis experience
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Confident in creating and delivering presentations
* Ability to develop and influence key relationships
* High attention to detail and proactive approach to seeking out opportunities
