The Opportunity

This fully paid, 12-month placement is based on-site in Suffolk. You’ll join the Work Management team, supporting the delivery of integrated work plans that drive operations at the station.

You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and project managers to coordinate work activities, analyse performance data, improve internal processes and track key outcomes. This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where every task contributes to the safe and successful running of a major energy facility.

This placement is designed to help you apply your academic learning to real-world projects, while giving you a solid foundation in regulated industries, operational leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the Work Management team, your responsibilities will include:

* Supporting the development of integrated work schedules across operational departments
* Tracking projects and performance metrics to support continuous improvement
* Analysing risk and compliance activities for safety-critical operations
* Assisting with stakeholder communications and cross-functional coordination
* Contributing to planning tools, reports, and project documentation
* Helping deliver high-impact improvements in planning, execution and control

You’ll gain insights into the core functions of a nuclear power station and work directly with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Your Work Location

You’ll be based on site at Sizewell B Power Station in Suffolk – a high-performing operational nuclear facility. Working on site gives you direct exposure to the inner workings of major infrastructure and the chance to build a network with senior professionals across the business.

Key Criteria / Must‑Haves

To be considered for this placement, applicants must:

Be on track to achieve (or have already achieved) a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in:

* Project Management
* Engineering (any discipline)
* Business Operations
* Or another relevant subject area

Demonstrate:

* Strong organisational and analytical skills
* A proactive attitude to learning and development
* A genuine interest in infrastructure, energy or regulated environments
* Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills
* Legal right to work in the UK from the start date
