Job Description
This leading international manufacturing group is seeking a high-calibre finance professional to play a pivotal role in its evolving finance team as their new Assistant Financial Control. With operations spanning the UK and abroad this newly created position offers significant visibility and the chance to influence the direction of a globally aligned finance function.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of core financial processes, support reporting and drive improvements in systems and controls. The job
Lead day-to-day UK accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, and cash management
* Manage the month-end close process and preparation of management accounts
* Ensure compliance with FRS standards and internal financial controls
* Support group financial reporting, including consolidation and audit preparation
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the UK and US on budgeting and forecasting
* Drive efficiencies in financial systems and processes
* Act as deputy to the Financial Controller and take ownership of strategic finance projects
The person specification
* ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or part-qualified, with a strong grounding in accounting principles
* Minimum five years of post-university experience, ideally beginning in a big four or top-tier firm of accountants
* Previous experience in a senior finance role within manufacturing or industrial sectors
* Proficient in ERP systems
* Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, hands-on approach
* Knowledge of UK FRS essential; exposure to US GAAP and group consolidations advantageous
Salary & benefits
* Salary is up to £60,000 pa depending on experience - plus annual bonus
* 25 Days holidays plus bank holidays + 8 bank holidays
