We have an exciting opportunity for a Non Clinical Substance Misuse Support Worker to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Garth, a category B Prison located in Lancashire.


Hours

Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm, 37.5 hours per week.


Salary

This position is full time; you’ll receive an annual salary of £24,669 to £28,690 per annum – depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.


What you'll be doing

As a Non Clinical Substance Misuse Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. You will

* work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning.
* be the first point of contact for patients coming into the service requiring assistance with Substance Misuse
* be able to carry out comprehensive assessments
* work with individuals, on a 1-1 basis, providing advice and information.
* must have a person centred approach.

Experience required

* Experience of working within a role within health and wellbeing
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience in writing up notes
* Experience of working with opiate dependant patients would be beneficial
* An interest in working with patients who have Substance Misuse issues
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
* Able to motivate and persuade others through advanced communication skills.
