Our site management teams are the essence of our business and are integral in ensuring construction is completed within agreed timelines, cost parameters, safely, and most importantly, to our customers' satisfaction. You will need to efficiently manage field operations, including controlling subcontractors' day-to-day activities and ensuring material supplies are available in conjunction with the Site Manager.
The Assistant Site Manager will assist the Site Manager in planning and programming site activities, ensuring work is completed safely, deputising for the Site Manager when necessary, and managing quality standards to meet customer expectations.
What you will do:
1. Organisation and Control of labour and sub-contractors
2. Complete weekly planning sheets to ensure the overall build programme is met.
3. Provide direction to contractors and their management to ensure quality standards are met.
4. Resolve conflicts between operations.
5. Coordinate with the Site Manager to ensure the availability of materials.
6. Maintain a daily diary to record site events and requirements.
Health and Safety
* Undertake site safety inductions for all new personnel.
* Ensure compliance with the Construction Health and Safety Regulations 1974 and Taylor Wimpey procedures.
* Complete statutory forms weekly.
* Conduct frequent inspections to ensure safety.
* Ensure operatives work according to submitted method statements and risk assessments.
* Comply with environmental action plan requirements.
* Liaise with Sales Executives regarding customer options and variations.
* Coordinate with Sales, Buying, and subcontractors on customer choices.
* Resolve customer issues in coordination with sales and site teams.
Site Inspection
* Plan and arrange inspections with NHBC and Local Authority inspectors.
* Accompany inspectors during visits.
Customer Care
* Assist in Home Quality Inspections before sign-off.
* Support Customer Relations in customer home introductions and defect resolutions.
* Ensure homes are defect-free, clean, and ready at legal completion.
* Participate in post-completion visits to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Help resolve customer concerns or defects.
Quality Control
* Assist in managing work quality of subcontractors and materials.
* Conduct regular inspections and complete snagging lists.
* Issue defect sheets to trades.
* Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and scope of works.
Site Presentation
* Apply company franchise rules regarding street scene and site appearance.
Control of Work
* Ensure waste disposal skips are available.
* Ensure waste is separated by subcontractors and labor.
What you will have:
* Experience in assistant site management preferred; trade background or building process knowledge including NHBC and Building Regulations; CCSCS card (Manager/Supervisor Level).
* Engaging communication style supporting team collaboration.
* NVQ Residential Construction Site Supervision Level 4.
