The role
This role will be responsible for delivering high-quality training to aspiring HGV Drivers, ensuring they meet the required standards for safe, competent, and legal driving. This role involves both classroom-based theory instruction and practical on-road driver training.
What you will be doing?
* Deliver both practical and theoretical training to prepare leaners for DVSA driving tests
* Keep up-to-date and accurate learner records, including attendance and performance reports
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, including DVSA, CPC and O Licence regulations
* Maintain training vehicles to a high standard of cleanliness, safety and presentation
* Monitor and record fuel usage for training vehicles
* Instruct students in safe, legal and professional driving techniques
* Promote and ensure road safety practices and adherence to the Highway Code
* Conduct classroom-based training sessions, including Driver CPC and internal programs
* Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team KPIs, training outcomes and continuous improvement targets
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of road transport legislation and industry development
What we want from you?
* LGV C+E Driving Licence Held for minimum of 5 years
* Complete relevant CPC and instructor training
* In depth knowledge of driving laws and regulations
* Time management and punctuality
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
* Knowledge of IT (Microsoft suite)
* Able to work closely with colleagues to deliver KPIs
* Previous experience as a qualified LGV Instructor
